How locals do it
A takeaway counter, not a teahouse. Regulars come for the 糕团 (sticky-rice sweets) sold by the piece — 双酿团 and 条头糕 are the old-Shanghai standards. In spring the 青团 (green mugwort rice balls) draw the queue.
Don't get this wrong
There is no seating — buy and eat as you walk. The seasonal 青团 and 鲜肉月饼 often sell out by early afternoon, so come before noon if that is why you came.
